Hello, My name is Amy Pasola and I live in the USA. My Grandfather, Louis Pasola, immigrated to the USA in the early 1900's when he was 12 years old. His name at birth was Tammaro Paciolla and he was born in Grumo Nevano. I am on the Grumo Nevano web site all the time trying to learn about the area and I stumbled upon the photo of Saint Tammaro with the donation from your family member in Trenton. When my family moved to the United States they lived in Trenton, New Jersey which is where my father was born. While investigating my family from Italy I also see my Great, Great, Great Grandmother is Rachel D'Errico. Could there possibly be a relation? I also believe my Grandfather was baptized in Saint Tammaro. Is there a way I can find out this information? I know the church has records of baptizm and he possibly made his first communion there as well. My Great Grandfather was Domenico Paciolla (1874-1950), who eventually left the USA and moved back to Grumo Nevano, and my Great Grandmother was Rosa Anatriello. I do not speak Italian and I use a translator that does not always work! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

My Great Grandfather Domenico Paciolla immigrated to the United States in the Early 1900's from Grumo Nevano. Later, he sent for his wife Rosa Anatriello Paciolla, and their children Tammaro (my grandfather), Raffaele and Amalia. They settled in Trenton, New Jersey where all three children eventually married and had families of their own. My Grandfather died many years ago but I will always remember the tears in his eyes when he spoke of Grumo Nevano. He missed his homeland and I know it pained him greatly to leave as a young boy. I have also often wondered about my family from Italy and the place my Grandfather grew up. I knew there was family that stayed in Grumo Nevano but I did not know much about them so I decided to start my search on Facebook. I entered the name "Paciolla" and noticed there was a gentleman named Nicola Paciolla who was at the University of Naples. Nicola returned my email and told me that he too had relatives that went to the U.S. at about the same time and his father had a lot of information on their family tree. As it turns out I was so lucky to find Nicola! We are hoping to find a family connection, to both expand our family trees, but even if we are not related Nicola and his father have helped me so very much! They have given me names of generations of family that I would not have otherwise known. I have attached a few photos of my family. Il mio bisnonno Domenico Paciolla emigrò negli Stati Uniti nei primi anni del 1900 da Grumo Nevano. In seguito, egli fece venire la moglie Rosa Anatriello Paciolla, e i loro figli Tammaro (mio nonno), Raffaele e Amalia. Si stabilirono a Trenton, New Jersey, dove tutti e tre i figli poi si sposarono ed ebbero una famiglia propria. Mio nonno è morto molti anni fa, ma mi ricorderò sempre le lacrime nei suoi occhi quando parlava di Grumo Nevano. Sentiva la mancanza della sua patria e so che lo aveva fatto molto soffrire partire da bambino. Anch’io io mi sono spesso fatta domande sulla mia famiglia italiana e sul posto in cui è cresciuto mio nonno. Sapevo che la famiglia stava a Grumo Nevano, ma non sapevo molto su di loro e così ho deciso di iniziare la mia ricerca su Facebook. Ho inserito il nome "Paciolla" e ho visto che c'era un signore di nome Nicola Paciolla che era all'Università di Napoli. Nicola ha risposto alla mia mail e mi ha detto che anche lui aveva parenti che erano andati negli Stati Uniti all’incirca nello stesso periodo e suo padre aveva un sacco di informazioni sul loro albero genealogico. Come vede, sono stata fortunata a trovare Nicola! Speriamo di trovare un legame familiare, per allargare i nostri due alberi di famiglia, ma anche se non siamo parenti Nicola e suo padre mi hanno aiutato tanto! Mi hanno dato i nomi di intere generazioni della famiglia che non avrei altrimenti conosciuto. Ho allegato alcune foto della mia famiglia. Se c'è qualcuno da voi che può pensare che ci sia un legame familiare mi piacerebbe che mi contatassero!
